Racing on 'Arcsine'

We offer the opportunity for you to book berths on Arcsine to take part in our full programme of yacht racing throughout 2008.

We specialise in offshore races, typically over a weekend and coastal races lasting up to 24 hours, organised by JOG and RORC.

Our 2007 racing results:
Winners of JOG offshore series and second in inshore series:
1st Weymouth (twice), Cherbourg and Fecamp
2nd Guernsey (twice), Cherbourg return and Alderney
3rd Yarmouth
4th St Malo

We also take part in prestigious races like the Round the Island Race, Cork Week (next in 2008), Cowes Week, The Fastnet Race(next in 2009), plus West Country regattas in August.

Races will often be preceded by a day of familiarisation and training for those with little or no previous experience of yacht racing.

Arcsine has all the latest equipment for racing including Tacktick wireless instruments, Seopro Racing Navigation system and Kevlar/carbon sails by UK Sails Hamble Whether you are a complete beginner or have previous experience racing dinghies or sailing yachts, we provide a unique opportunity for you to experience and learn about racing a brand new high performance yacht. This will take place under the expert tuition of Skipper Kathy Claydon.

There is always a great team spirit amongst the crew; we take the racing seriously but not at the expense of enjoyment, especially once we meet up with the crews of other yachts in port after the finish (typically in France, the Channel Islands or on the South Coast) to exchange stories of our exploits.

For anyone wanting an introduction to racing we have teamed up with Adrian Rivett of Safeena Sailing to provide more basic race training for those not wishing to sail on such a competitive yacht as Arcsine.
